On the eve of Australian Fashion Week, its owner IMG is poised to signal a new naming rights sponsorship offer with Mercedes-Benz really worth an estimated $1 million.
Following 5 years using the wine brand name Rosemount, the Sydney event will add prestige and stage much more broadly onto the international stage through Mercedes-Benz's current naming rights sponsorships of fashion weeks across the world including New york, Berlin and Swim Style Week in Miami.
The deal, believed to be a three-year agreement with the choice to renew for an additional two years, will ensure style week's continued financial stability once its partnership with Rosemount expires this year.

Mercedes-Benz was the partner of the inaugural style week in 1995, but wound up its involvement after eleven many years when sponsorship costs elevated in 2005. It went on to sponsor other international fashion weeks, but the Herald understands it is now returning to its original partner.

''Their Australian association was instrumental in sending them into partnership with style across the world, so it's come complete circle.''
This year's fashion week will begin on Might two and can be opened through the Sydney label Zimmermann, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
''We believed it might be considered a nice method to celebrate twenty many years within the company,'' stated Nicky Zimmermann, who runs the label with her sister, Simone.
The duo will reveal their new ''halcyon days'' assortment of swimwear and working day attire that were inspired by a piece of material bought in Mexico.
''I needed to capture that beautiful warm idyllic feeling of summer time,'' said Zimmermann.
It's also halcyon days for the brand. With 15 stores and 150 stockists across the globe, it's opening a permanent boutique in Los Angeles.
''We are hoping to open just after fashion week, so I will hopefully be taking off on a plane directly absent,'' Zimmermann stated.
The Australian Style Week mother or father business, IMG Style Asia Pacific, yesterday refused to verify the brand new sponsorship deal.
''We are in the final stages of confirming a brand new companion, but till that is total we are not in a place to confirm or deny,'' the company's marketing and communications director, Graeme Lewsey, said yesterday.
